And who takes the early lead?...

The first quarter results are in!

Our contestants have had 3.5 months to feast, pump iron or just eat like gluttons to boost their weight. Here are the results

Johnny: 168.4 lbs.
Scotty: 191.2 lbs.
Aaron: 135.0 lbs.

--------------------

Johnny went from 163.0 to 168.4. That's 5.4 lbs. gained and a 3.3% increase.
Scotty went from 187.o to 191.2. That's 4.2 lbs. gained and a 2.2% increase.
Aaron went from 136 to 135. That's 1.0 lbs. lost and a 0.73% decrease!

Before we jump to any hasty conclusions - let us not forget the 1st quarter weigh-in from 2008 where, eventual Champion, Aaron lost over 10 lbs. in the first 3 months.

Time will only tell if competitors Johnny and Scotty can keep up the pace - or if veteran Aaron will win the day with his sheer sticktuidivness (I promise that is a word). He has done it before - can he do it again?

Tune in next time...

It's On - Again!

Weight Gain Wars 2010

Weight Gain Wars is on for a second year.

It seems Johnny has been stewing over his crushing defeat in 2008 and after a year break he wants to compete once again.

Same rules as 2008. Who ever gains the most weight (percentage gain) by the end of the year wins. Loser will buy the winner dinner at a location of his choice.

To make things a bit more interesting - Scotty will also be competing this year. We'll see if he holds strong.

Here is the opening weigh-in. Taken on New Years Eve 2009.

Johnny = 163 lbs.
Scotty = 187 lbs.
Aaron = 136 lbs.

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

It is finished.

The 2008 Weight Gain War came to a miraculous finish as our to competitors weighed in at approximately 12 midnight on Dec 31, 2008 - exactly 1 year from the first weigh-in.

And the winner is...

Aaron Yee Quon Lee

The results:

This was truly a race to the finish. What looked like a victory for Johnny after the 3rd quarter weigh in, turned into an astonishing comeback victory for Aaron.

This could go down as one of the greatest victories in annual weight gain competitions ever.

Remember that victory was determined by greatest percentage gain over the year.

Johnny's final weight in was 169.4 - a 7.8% increase from his 157 start.
Aaron's final weight in was 150.4 - a 15.7% increase from his 130 start.

Stay tuned for the 2009 competition!

3 months left in the year - anything can happen. So stay tuned.

2nd Quarter Weigh-in Results

The results for the 2nd Quarter (April - June) are in!!

Let us not forget that the 1st Quarter results produced not so specular results with both Johnny and Aaron losing weight.

Well - the 2nd quarter is a completely different story. Both gained a considerable amount of weight with Aaron obtaining a higher percent increase.

Bonus update and the FAT MAN

I know many of you check this blog daily (if not - shame on you) - only to find that we have not updated it.  I apologize to all of you for the lack of content.

Hopefully this bonus update will hold you over until our next weigh in. This bonus update was inspired by one of the most grotesque things I have seen in a long time.

Apparently the fattest man in the world is starting to slim down - and the news wants you to see his progress.  Check it out:

I don't know what is more disturbing - his weight or his wardrobe.

There really is no good way to transition to another subject after viewing that photo - so I'll just give you my bonus update.

I have gained back 5 of the 15 lbs. I lost between my 1st and 2nd weigh ins.

That puts me at a portly 120 lbs. total.

Look out Johnny.

1st Quarter Weigh-in.

Johnny - 154 lbs.
Aaron - 115 lbs.

1st quarter results = depressing.  Probably wasn't a good idea that we did our first weigh-in during time of year where we gorge ourselves with food 24/7.
